It's unnecessary to clean the filter after each wash and dry cycle. Just Transfer over your existing handle, gasket & Screw. Install the Upgraded Filter assembly and follow the instructions when the machine prompts you to clean the filter about every five cycles, or weekly ignoring the message, based on how often you use it.
For vacuuming, after removing the filter. Vacuum along the bottom rail inside the machine, proceed directly to the back, ascend up & down the rear, and exit along the top rail. Then Vacuum the Exterior of the Filter Strips and the exterior White mesh screen. Then reinstall the Filter Assembly. Good to go until the next notification!
The new, improved secondary filter doesn't require disassembly every five cycles; simply open and vacuum the interior secondary filter every 30 to 50 cycles, once a month or when notified by the machine.
Leave the secondary filter in place with the (Hold Down Washers) and vacuum the Interior White Side.
Despite common misconceptions, cleaning the lint filter after every wash is not needed and does not impact the drying performance in our testing. It may also cause more lint to bypass the filter each time it is removed. Built-up lint on the filter can fall off and onto the tracks when removing the filter.
If you choose not to install a filter kit and forgo vacuuming each time, you are ultimately creating unnecessary work and potentially allowing more lint to work its way to the coil. The clothes dry by Moisture Condensing on the Coil, the Slower the Air Flow over the coil, the quicker Water will Condense on the coil and ultimately be pumped out the drain.

In addition to this Filter Upgrade kit, we offer Flushing Kits with a detailed procedure for Flushing the Coil and the Entire Filter Housing Box. With each Flushing kit, we include easy to follow detailed instructions. The unit can be flushed all without taking the Machine apart, making your machine Like New! Caked on Lint / Hair etc. will accumulate to the Left of the Filter Housing and all throughout the machine. The self-Clean Cycle cannot clean these areas and will ultimately lead to inches of buildup of material and potentially causing unwanted smells and Bacteria growth inside the machine and potential pump damage should clumps of materials break off and get into or block the pump causing it to burnout.
We did all the research and work, just follow our recommendations and enjoy the machine and all its benefits!
